Love, Signed & Sealed

Raina Mills sells fish and gets into a marriage with Wade Lewis that is set out in a contract, which leaves her none of the standing of a wife and no claim on him past what is written down. She works on that. She flatters him constantly, spreads talk that works in her favour, and over time she has his trust and his preference over everyone else around him. They tell each other how they feel, and then she takes a blow to the head. The memories she had lost before the marriage come back with it, including who she is, and Wade goes out of it completely. She does not know him. He starts again from nothing. He pretends he has gone blind so she will stay near him, plays helpless where that works on her, and uses whatever else comes to hand to get her back.
