The Saintess's Last Betrothed

She wants the marriage she was promised. Twelve years ago her master gave up years of his own life to cure the heir of a rich family, and the family signed a contract in return: once twelve years had passed, the boy would marry the master's disciple. She arrives at their gate on the date written in the contract. The family has stopped wanting her. The heir's grandfather has arranged a match with the daughter of a clan of physicians, and a debt to a healer's student counts for less than that alliance. They tear the contract up, insult her in front of the whole household and send her away. None of them know that her own healing skill goes far past anything the physician clan can do. She is pushed onto a political path of a different kind, and she makes a choice that puts everyone involved in line for punishment, starting with the household that tore up the contract.
