Worthless Dirt, Million Dollar Highway

He wants the compensation money his father was owed and the man who took it made to answer for the beating. It is 1996. His father was beaten by the village bully, and the money that was supposed to make up for it was taken. He has just finished university, and what he has is his savings. He puts all of it into a lease on the family's plot, a stretch of wasteland nobody in the village would look at twice. The village decides he has studied himself stupid and waits for him to go broke. The new national highway is cut through past the plot. He opens a service station for the traffic, then a haulage business, then starts moving mountain produce down the road and pulls the neighbours into a cooperative. He has not yet gone after the man who beat his father. He drives a luxury car now, has the woman he loves with him, and the families who laughed at him have followed him into the business.
