The Premier's Lucky Lady

It is a village where a household's run of luck is counted from the day a bride comes through the door. Summer Stocke is married into the Wu family and finds that her husband is held to be a fool, and she takes it that she has been cheated. From the day she arrives the Wu family's luck turns over. Good things come one after another and the household gets richer. She goes up into the hills to dig wild greens and comes back with lingzhi, and a trip down to the river after fish turns up buried valuables. Her husband stops being a fool, sits the imperial examination and comes home having passed. Summer works this through with some alarm, wondering whether a husband who has his wits about him now will think less of her.
