Lucky Heiress Arrives

Shen Suisui grew up under her stepmother Zhou Lin, who beat her and eventually put her out of the house with nowhere to go. On her own, she happens to help Lu Qingming, the head of one of the great families of Hong Cheng, and the two of them get along well. When he learns she has no family to return to, he takes her home with him that same day. Under his protection she becomes a fixture in the household, well liked, and her standing there is high. Zhou Lin comes to Hong Cheng to be married, and the man she is marrying is Lu Qingming's third son, Lu Ziyue. She recognizes Shen Suisui and assumes she is the same child she used to push around, and starts in on her again with the intention of driving her out. Then the family sits down and Zhou Lin goes to pay her respects to the elders, and the seat at the head of the table is Shen Suisui's.
