Kill Cinderella’s Script

Song Zhenxing worked out that she was a supporting character in someone else's story, one of the ones written to die early, and she stopped behaving like it. A man her family matched her with tried to make her the other woman in his life and she stabbed him. Her relatives moved on the family company and she took the shares back off them, with her brother alongside her. Her mother kept arranging more matches, so she hired a man of her own instead, a twenty-year-old named Lu Zheng, who did as he was told and asked for nothing. He stayed pliant for as long as it suited him. She woke one day somewhere she did not recognize, with Lu Zheng standing over her, smiling, and nothing gentle left in his face. He was the fiancé her family had settled on for her before any of it, and he had spent the whole arrangement letting her think she was the one who had hired him.
