No Second Chance

Kate Hamilton married Calvin Anderson in secret. For three years she stayed out of sight and put her own resources into rebuilding his career and the Anderson company. Calvin was still attached to the woman he had loved before, and Kate could not displace her. The disappointment ran itself out, and Kate made up her mind. She left, and she took back the support she had been giving the Anderson company, which was the only thing holding it up. Calvin understood then what he had done and went after her. By that point Kate had started a different life with someone who kept her out in the open.
