Aurora Bennett held the post of Grand Director and brought the fighting in Grandia to an end. She gave the post up for her sister's sake and moved into the city as a civilian. Her sister was engaged into the provincial governor's household, and Aurora took it that the marriage was a comfortable one. Raiders out of Eastisle began working the border, and people of theirs set up a society in the south of the country. The office Aurora used to head sent word asking her to take the post again, and she turned it down, since coming back would pull her sister's settled life apart. The fiancé's mother and the rest of that household had been grinding her sister down the whole time. The man she was to marry went over to the Eastisle side and handed her to a prince's son to buy the cooperation. Aurora got told all of it and changed her answer. She was getting ready for her sister's birthday when word came in that the Eastisle raiders were crossing. At the party the governor's people, the prince's son and the Eastisle woman running the southern society all went at her in front of the room, and she answered them with her old title. There is a sword that would settle whether the title is hers. It was damaged years ago, and drawing it may break it.
