Manbo Destiny

Quan Mengmeng went to Manbo to build a cross-border e-commerce business, and her boyfriend there took everything she had built and left her with nothing. While she was working out how to get it back, assassins came for the country's first prince, Song Pai, and the two of them ran together. Song Pai has a succession problem. A married prince is a stronger candidate, so they sign a marriage contract, and she takes the palace on the understanding it will get her a company again. The rules inside the royal household close around her almost immediately, and Song Pai keeps telling her to behave like herself anyway and backs her when she restarts the trade. It emerges he had noticed her back in China, long before any of this. With the local merchants and the Chinese community behind her, she starts moving goods between the two countries at scale, which puts her directly in the path of the traditionalists at court, who want the second prince on the throne and want the first prince's reforms stopped. Meanwhile she keeps seeing things that happened to the two of them in a life neither of them lived.
