Ablaze With Vengeance

Sean Groff hands his wife, Layla York, a divorce agreement right before she is due to make him CEO of the Onyx Group. She has organized the Phoenix Gala to announce the appointment. Layla is the woman known as Balton's Valkyrie. Three years earlier she was badly wounded in a battle and came to believe that Sean had saved her. That belief was mistaken. She married him all the same, to repay what she thought she owed him, and she kept her identity from him. Over the three years since she has worked for him and for the Groff family, got him into the Onyx Group, and prepared the gala at which she meant to hand him the top post. Around the time of the gala she finds out that he has been betraying her. Sean has taken her for a woman of no account, and he has no idea who she actually is.
