Where Love Begins Again

Louise Taylor moves into Jack Carlson's house as his second wife, and the child Jack had with his first wife refuses to accept her. His mother is no warmer and refers to Louise as a burden. The ex-wife keeps stirring up trouble, and Louise and Jack themselves do not always agree on how to handle any of it. Louise came to the marriage with a daughter of her own. She grew up in an ordinary family in a rundown urban neighborhood and worked as a sales assistant in a brand store. Her first husband betrayed her while she was pregnant, and the daughter was born with a cleft lip. Louise divorced him and raised the girl alone, working to cover the medical bills. It was her mother who encouraged her toward Jack, a divorced doctor who had helped her once before, and gratitude was a large part of why she said yes.
