Synopsis

After arguing with her mother Madelyn Kean about college applications, Winnie Irving is accidentally sent back to 1988, where she meets Madelyn as a young woman. Disguised as a cousin, Winnie witnesses her mother’s night-school ambitions and the humiliations that threaten them, then uses modern knowledge to help change the past. When she returns to the present, Winnie understands Madelyn more deeply and repairs their relationship across time.
