The apartment and the savings went across to Ryan Mercer and his wife Hailey Kim, a piece at a time, each transfer explained to Linda Mercer as a married couple keeping its boundaries. Linda and her husband had taken Ryan in as a baby when he was ill and had put everything they had into getting him grown. Her husband went to the end of his life with it unresolved. Linda comes back to the day of the wedding, before any of the money has moved. She keeps the deeds in her own name, tells Ryan and Hailey where the line is now, and sets out in front of the people they know what the two of them have been doing and what Ryan was when she took him in.
