Revenge of the Commander's Heiress

Josie was the daughter of Chief Commander Choi. She married Gordon Hodges, of the Snoylor tribe, in a ceremony only. Under his people's custom no marriage was registered and the two families did not meet. Gordon returned to his military camp after the wedding. Josie sent word of her pregnancy by letter. Their son Freddie was born. Seven years passed and the two did not see each other again. Freddie asked to see his father. Josie took him to the camp. At the gate she was told Gordon had married a woman there. The people at the camp took her for Gordon's mistress and beat her and Freddie. Josie called out her father's name. An adjutant on her father's staff heard it, had Josie and Freddie taken to a hospital, and left to report to Commander Choi. At the hospital Freddie was taken into surgery. Gordon's wife at the camp then pretended to go into labour, and Gordon took the one doctor on duty away from the operating room.
