Charles comes home after three years abroad, takes Jenny for someone else and accuses her of being unfaithful. Jenny has spent those three years waiting for a husband who did not come back, and she has grievances of her own. Charles hires a detective to look into her, and the assignment ends up with Jenny herself. The marriage had been arranged by Mia, her mother's best friend and a very rich woman.
