Kiss or Kill

Claire's father, her stepmother, her best friend and her fiancé poisoned her together, took the family's property, and left her to die in a fire. Nathanie, a man she had spent years writing off as obsessive, died in the fire with her. She wakes up on the day her engagement was due to be announced in public. She drops the fiancé that same day and goes to Nathanie, and she is the one who proposes marriage. She stays with him this time. She works on the insecurity he carries and on showing him what being loved properly looks like. Around them the family's inheritance fight and its arranged-marriage plans start up again, and the people who poisoned her the first time are all still in place. Claire uses what she remembers of the first life to plan several moves ahead, and she and Nathanie set traps for each of them in turn. Betrayals keep coming, and at points her feelings about Nathanie swing between love and doubt. She also wants to know how her mother died, and she keeps at that alongside everything else.
