Isabella takes Ethan as her mate after he wins the tournament she held to pick a husband. He is a rogue nobody in the packs has heard of, and he came to the contest with his daughter Lily. He is also a Lycan, which is what he announced when he broke in on the Alpha trial. Isabella had set up the tournament to get out from under Vincent, who would not leave her alone.
