The Wedding Trap\Reborn to Stop Them

Olive's younger sister came to the wedding early to help her dress. The groom's friends caught the sister alone in the bridal room and shut her in, calling it a wedding-day prank, and in the scuffle she fell down the staircase and did not get up. Her fiance's parents had the connections to get it written down as an accident. Olive walked into traffic in a daze afterward and was hit by a speeding car. She opened her eyes at the moment the wedding party was arriving to collect the bride. This time she held her sister's hand hard, pushed her into a taxi bound for their great-uncle's house, and stood watching until the car was out of sight before she let herself breathe. Then she went back inside to deal with the fiance and the family that had covered for him, and called the wedding off. The groom's side had reasons of their own for wanting the ceremony to go through, favors owed upward and a promotion riding on it, and they had no intention of letting a bride change the plan. Olive's warnings were brushed aside and she was put out of the hall. The prank went ahead as scheduled. The person locked in the room was someone else.
