The Dragon King's Chosen

The golden egg that Chen's daughter gives birth to has the Dragon God's son inside it, and Chen takes one look and calls it a monster. He has his wife and daughter tortured, orders both of them killed along with the child, and the blades are already at their necks. Before this the Dragon God had got drunk, passed out, and spent one night with the daughter, a commoner, and He Bo, lord of the river, saw it. He wanted the Dragon God's favour, so he turned up at the family's run-down house with the three uses of power he had left. "Name three wishes. I will grant them." Chen asked to be emperor. The moment he was on the throne he threw his wife and daughter out of the palace, and right then the daughter was gripped by pain and laid the egg where she stood. Lightning strikes out of the sky and the Dragon God comes down from the clouds to get his wife and child out. Later Chen goes after his daughter and the boy again, to get power for himself, and deceives He Bo to do it.
