Jiang Wei is bound to a transmigration system, and the binding happened by accident. The system moves him between the city he lives in and the Great Qian dynasty, and it has just brought him home from a survival mission there. He was out of contact the whole time he was away, so his boss fires him as soon as he gets back. He has one day before the system sends him back to Great Qian, and over there both money and an identity are matters of survival. A friend calls to say an antiques appraisal programme has come to town. Jiang Wei thinks of the bowl he used while begging in Great Qian, a piece of official-kiln porcelain from the Wanli reign, and takes it to the show. The appraiser says it is real. Two rich men start bidding against each other for it, and Jiang Wei tells them he has a second bowl of the same kind and offers the two together. They make a joint bid of 3.6 million. He takes the money and starts getting ready for the next crossing.
