The Janitor’s Goddess Harem: Merlin’s Choice

Luke does the cleaning at Asgard Academy. At the bonding ceremony he fails to bind even the lowest-ranked beast, and the other students laugh. What he has instead is the Soul Bond of the archmage Merlin, which he inherits without anyone noticing, and which does not work the way ordinary bonding does. Julia, the genius the academy produces once a century, becomes bound to him. So does the Queen of the Beasts, who was never anyone's contracted beast. So does a judge of the heavens. Each bond feeds the others and his power climbs. The noble families he embarrassed come after him, a beast tide moves on the academy, and the heavens send people to kill him for holding what Merlin sealed away.
