The twins Gabriel is raising want a mother, and the first time they see Helena they settle the question themselves. They take hold of her and call her that, and they will not be told otherwise. Helena came into the house as a substitute bride. Her own children went missing years ago and she has been looking for them ever since, which is what her stepmother Yvonne used to force her into marrying in her stepsister's place.
