Too Late to Be My Dad

On Sebastian's seventh birthday his father Cameron leaves him waiting and goes to Roman's party instead. Roman is the child of Lilith, the woman Cameron loved first. Sebastian is the son of Cameron and Sylvia, conceived on a night Cameron had been drinking, and Cameron has been cold to him from the start. When Sebastian was four he watched his father comfort Roman gently and then turn and scold him. After the birthday, Sylvia takes Sebastian and leaves. The two of them meet Maximus, who teaches Sebastian the cello. Maximus gives the boy the kind of fatherly attention he never had at home, and the three settle into a simple life together. Cameron, meanwhile, finds out that Lilith only came to him for his money and that she has been passing company secrets outside. He regrets what he did and goes looking for Sebastian, with an apology and an offer of money.
