Synopsis

Zander had influence once. He was betrayed, and it cost him his sight and his memory. Years after that he was raising a son and a daughter on his own with almost nothing coming in. His son wanted a place at university. Zander put everything he had into paying for it. Once the son was there he would not admit in front of anyone that Zander was his father, because the family's poverty embarrassed him. His wife's family pushed him further than that, and he used violence against Zander and against his sister.

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
