Mother-in-Law's Accident, Husband Rushed to Mistress

Neil Cole had a mistress, April Cox, and his wife Amy knew nothing of what it would cost her. Neil's mother, Anna Cooper, was riding a bicycle when April drove at her from the wrong direction. Anna swerved, went into a ditch, and was badly hurt and unconscious. Amy found her and called Neil for help. Once he heard that his mother had not been struck by the car directly, he told Amy to deal with it herself and went to the site of April's "accident". April played the victim to win his sympathy and accused Anna of being the driver who fled the scene, and asked the court to summon her. Amy carried it alone and stayed with her mother-in-law at the hospital. When Anna's condition became critical the hospital needed Neil's signature to treat her, and no one could reach him.
