Her Scalpel Killed Her Son

Zander runs his car into Maximus and leaves him bleeding internally. At the hospital the doctor phones Maximus's mother, Lysandra, again and again to get her signature for surgery. Lysandra is a surgeon. Maximus is her own son, but years ago she misjudged his father and took it out on the boy, and the son she dotes on is Zander, the child left behind by the man she loved before, whom she adopted. On the phone she says Maximus has not been in any accident and calls him a habitual liar. Maximus hears it and loses the will to live. Zander goes to the hospital to check whether Maximus is dead and finds a form Maximus signed donating a kidney. He changes it so that all the organs are donated. Lysandra at this point is trying to find a heart for Zander. She is told that a crash victim has donated everything and that the heart matches, and she does the operation herself. The body looks so much like Maximus that she hesitates, but Zander tells her Maximus is off running around with hooligans, and she takes the organs out and the transplant goes ahead. To put her mind at rest she asks a colleague to run a paternity test between her and the donor. When the funeral home calls about collecting Maximus's ashes she still takes it for a trick of his and curses him for it. The DNA report is what finally makes her believe he is dead, and it also shows that Zander had known all along. She stops supporting Zander. He produces his father Jayden, whom everyone believed dead, to win back her sympathy. Lysandra starts looking into the two of them and finds that the accident and everything after it was a scheme, and that Jayden had taken the heart she removed and sold it. She decides to confront them both at Zander's engagement party.
