Family Binds, Unleashed Wrath

Zahra Reyes comes home for her son's wedding with burn scars over much of her body and a face that no longer looks like hers. The burns are from a car explosion. She shielded her son Sawyer Gertz from the blast and was burned badly enough that it took a long course of treatment before she could travel. Sawyer is glad to have her there and posts a photo of the two of them on social media to show his love for his mother. Reina Lamb, the woman he is marrying, sees the photo and decides the woman in it is his mistress. She insults Zahra to her face, and the abuse gets worse until she has her mother-in-law put into a sack, meaning to kill her. The truth about the photo, and about who Zahra is, does not come out until after that.
