Synopsis

The Brocade Pavilion is a family business, and it passes down through the household that owns it. Sylvie is the heir. Her fiancé takes up with one of the servants, then frames her father and has him jailed so the shop will fall to him. With her father in prison and the shop about to go, Sylvie has one place left to go for help: the garrison, and Mason, the military commander who now runs the city. Nothing he gives is free. She keeps ending up in his path, through traps and other people's jealousy, and the two of them fall into something sweet and painful at once.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
