King Fred Is Back

The Lynch family lost a son twenty years ago and has finally located him. They bring him home expecting a quiet, grateful man who will do as he is told, easy to steer while they hold on to what matters. Fred arrives from somewhere much worse than they imagine, and he has come back for what is his. His adopted brother treats his return as a threat to a position already occupied. His sisters talk about him in front of him as low class. His parents work on him with their own guilt, offering apology as a leash. He answers all of it with a cold smile and says almost nothing, while he puts pieces in place where nobody is looking, one holding at a time, moving toward the family business empire, which is the thing they prize above everything and the thing he intends to take last.
