Brats, Meet My Second Life!

Lily Carter bought her son a flat and a car, paid for his wedding, and handed him her pension to look after. He spent it. Once his wife moved in, the two of them used the word boundaries against Lily and her husband, and it ended with the older couple put out of the house. Lily was minding her grandson when the boy broke his leg, and her son and daughter-in-law used that to move the pair of them into a care home and leave them there. Lily had taught school until she retired and had spent what she earned on that son. Then she woke on the day her daughter-in-law first walked into the house, with her strength back and a system attached to her that returned a hundred yuan for every one she spent. She spent it on herself and her husband: clothes, food, trips, a large house, a car. She put her son, his wife and his wife's family out of the house, wrecked the old place, and cut the tie with her son. Friends came back around her. She also spent money on young people who had gone off the rails.
