You Dump a War God?

Twelve years of war on the northern border are over, and at home the money set aside for the families of the soldiers who died in it has been drained by a noble house. The general who commanded that army, Ryan, comes home into this. He is received with honours by the head of state. At his father's birthday celebration his fiancée, who has just been made commander of the royal guard, breaks off the engagement in front of the guests. He accepts it without argument. Warriors from the kingdom to the east arrive for a tournament and mock the men of the empire. Ryan takes them on and beats them. His fiancée, who was there to see it, apologises to him afterwards and the two get back together. They come across two orphans whose father was a soldier and learn that the compensation owed to families like theirs has been embezzled. The noble house responsible then moves to demolish the shrine to the fallen soldiers. Ryan confronts the family's son at the graves, is arrested on a false charge, and is freed through the intervention of another woman. The family kidnaps Ryan's younger sister. His fiancée goes after her, and Ryan brings both of them back. Behind the theft of the funds the two of them find an uprising being planned against the empire, and they set out for the capital to defend it.
