Love That Hurts, I Let Go

Jillian McCray and Harry Stroud have been together ten years and married for several of them. Harry is the heir to a leading family in the city. He is in a car crash and loses his memory. The woman who takes him in during that time is Tina Latham. When he is well again and his memory has come back, he brings Tina home to live with them. Jillian, who feels she owes the woman for saving her husband, puts up with the arrangement without knowing that Harry has already been unfaithful to her. Tina becomes pregnant. Harry sets something up at the hospital to put her at ease. Jillian comes across him there, escorting Tina to a prenatal check-up, and the rest comes out, including that her own womb was removed without her knowledge so that Tina would feel secure. After that she gives up on him. She keeps up an ordinary face. Over seven days she quietly sells what she owns, and on their wedding anniversary she leaves the evidence of his affair behind and goes. The place she has bought the right to settle in is an island with no one on it.
