The Mastermind

A man with a good line of talk started working on Sophie. Her fiancé, Daniel Prescott, had put five years into a laboratory in Zaryndor and come out of it with a quantum computer ahead of anything built abroad. The marshal called him the country's unrivaled national hero. Daniel turned down the honours and the payments that came with the title. What he wanted out of it was that Sophie should have a good life. His name worked on its own anyway. People with standing across Zaryndor began treating her family's company well because of who she was attached to. The talking went on, and Sophie came round to it. At the signing ceremony for a contract, in front of the room, the two of them turned on Daniel and said what they thought of him. The heiress to a financial group was there and put together what had been done. She sided with Daniel, and the two of them began working against the people behind it.
