Her Name Is Not Pawn

Grace Lawson works the control tower at Breeze Air and is the one the airline leans on when things go wrong. Her adoptive parents died when she was young, and her birth family favors the daughter who took her place, so almost nobody has ever been kind to her. When David Collins comes after her hard and will not give up, she is moved by it, and she says yes. David is not in love with her. She looks good on his arm, and more usefully, the people who run the airline trust her, which is a ladder he intends to climb. Grace knows none of this. She takes the day off, goes to the civil registry office, and waits there with the paperwork for David to arrive and sign the marriage into the record.
