The Road to Redemption

The man Eric Phillips is shouting at by the roadside is the doctor on his way to Eric's son. Neither of them knows that yet. Eric's car was going fast when Dr. Lewis clipped it, and Eric wants an apology and payment for the damage before anyone leaves. Dr. Lewis has a patient he cannot be late for, so he apologizes and signs an IOU for a figure well past what the repair is worth, then drives on. He reaches the hospital in time. The patient is Eric's son. Eric hears afterwards who the doctor was and where he had been going, and he is left wishing he had handled the roadside differently.
