His Heir. Her Revenge.

Du Ruoxi is carrying a child. The house she grew up in is not her own family's, and the man who raised her has done as he likes with her. The night the child was conceived she had gone to the help of a man who had been drugged, and the man was the emperor Xiao Yan, out of the palace and dressed as somebody else. The child speaks to her from inside her. What it tells her is how the two of them ended the last time round, in the palace, and she starts working against that. She is put into a royal residence away from the main palace, which looks like being set aside. Xiao Yan remembers the last time as well. He is the one who put her there, and he clears people out of her path without letting her know he is doing it. In the residence there is the head nurse to bring over to her side, and her sister Du Ruhua turning up to provoke her. Further out there is the Empress Dowager, who means to reach the child with a mother and child gu. Somewhere in this Du Ruoxi learns whose daughter she actually is, which is the general who guards the country.
