Ghostwriter Princess

Edward Shelton, the son of the Imperial Chancellor, has been putting forward poems he did not write as his own in the imperial examinations. The poems belong to Isabella Wilson, the girl traffickers sold to him as a child bride. He keeps her shut away, takes every verse she composes, signs it in his own hand and uses it to sit the examination. The reputation for talent goes to him. Isabella herself does not know that she is the Emperor's daughter. At ten she saved her father from an assassination attempt, was carried off in the confusion and lost her memory. She lived on the streets after that and sold poems to get by until the traffickers took her. When the examination poems reach the Emperor he recognises lines his daughter composed as a small child, ten years earlier. He wants to know why they are surfacing under Edward Shelton's name, and he goes to the examination hall himself to put the question to him.
