See You in Hell, My Love

In that world the fortune of heaven sits on one person at a time, and it can be taken off them and carried by somebody else. Selena had it. Her adopted sister took it from her, arranged matters so that everyone around them held Selena to be the wicked one, had her grandmother killed, and then went at her with drugs to finish the ruin. Selena called up Silas, the king of the netherworld, and the two of them signed a contract under heaven and earth that made them husband and wife. What he could do got her the revenge. After that she wanted the contract cut, because what he was frightened her, and the contract was what he needed to get out from under the seal on him, so he came after her and would not be shaken off. She had got close to taking him as a husband in earnest when she worked out that the summoning had been set up at his end from the start.
