A Blessing in Disguise

Frank Lewis, a teacher, wants Chloe West out of her uncle's house. Chloe is an orphan. Her uncle's family mistreat her and make her sleep in the doghouse. Frank has lost his job, and getting her away from them costs him every bit of money he has saved. He pays it and takes her home to live with his family. After she moves in, the Lewis household's luck turns. Frank is taken back into the job he was fired from, and then his son's bad leg heals, and then his daughter-in-law finds out she is pregnant. Then word gets round that Chloe's father died saving a tycoon, and that the compensation paid for it is a large sum which Frank has been put in charge of. The uncle's family turn up at the Lewis home putting on a show of affection for her and start fighting for custody.
