My Landlord Is a Top Fighter

A chamber of commerce that fronts for a criminal outfit has been working its way through Cloud City, with one of the old local families helping it along. What they are after is a project a company there has been building, and the people close to it keep getting hurt. Ethan Vale used to fight for a living and has stopped doing it. He rents rooms out in Cloud City to keep a promise made to a comrade who died, and the tenancy comes with a guarantee that nobody living under his roof gets touched. His first tenant is the head of that company, who moves in because of what the project has made her worth to other people. He deals with the men who follow her there. The other rooms fill up, a student, an actress, and others, each with something behind her that draws attention. The attacks keep coming and get heavier. In between them Ethan is still trying to find out how his comrade actually died, and the trail goes toward people inside the country who are selling it out.
