Give Me $250? You're Doomed!

Arthur was separated from the Lynn family as a small child. When he finally comes back to them he works like someone who has something to prove, and the company's annual revenue climbs to a figure that would justify almost anything. At the year-end banquet, in front of the staff, Sam hands him a bonus of 250. Sam is the son the family raised in his place and is not related to any of them. Arthur waits for his parents or his sister to say something. They side with Sam. So he leaves. He walks out of the house and the company and goes to build something of his own, and the Lynn family gets to find out what the difference was between the son they kept and the one they humiliated over a number small enough to fit on a card.
