Three Chances, No Goodbyes

Kevin married Hazel after she did something for him. He had wanted her before that and had not told her. They slept together while he was drunk, Hazel became pregnant, and Kevin took the position that the child was not his and left for seven years. Hazel wrote to him. Another woman took the letters before they reached him and told the family that Hazel had married for money. The family put her out. Hazel had a head for mathematics and used it, and by the time Kevin came back she was running a technology company and had a man interested in her. Kevin returned with another woman. Their son set the terms and gave his father three chances to put things right. Kevin used them up, and the boy and his mother were hurt each time. Hazel left, taking the paternity report with her. Kevin was in the room where the wedding had been, going through the letters that were never delivered.
