Carry On With My Heart

Five years ago Trevin Sage gave up his heart so that his wife, Stella Cade, could have it, and she was never told. He arranged it in secret, then left her with a cold excuse and made sure the leaving looked like a betrayal. Stella has hated him since. She runs into him by chance, close to death, and demands an explanation. He believes the truth would waste everything he gave up, so he stays in the part he wrote for himself. He insults her on purpose, provokes her again and again, and steps back whenever she comes near him. Her hatred grows.
