Love Expired

Julian Mercer went up to a temple and came back with the Fruit of Reverie, which would give his wife Claire Hathaway her youth back. It held only as long as he loved her. Claire had been close to death; she ate it and was young again. Once she was young she went after the modelling career she had wanted, and took up with the head of a modelling agency who promised to make a name for her and set a date for the signing. Julian heard about the signing, bought a present and went to congratulate her. He watched her tell the agency head in front of the room that she loved him. When Julian asked her about it she denied there was anything between them, said he had forced himself on her, and in covering the matter up came close to getting him killed. What Julian felt for her ran out. The fruit stopped working and Claire aged where she stood. One difficulty followed another for her after that.
