Stand-in Game: Love is Loss!

Ann has been Silas's secretary for three years. He hired her for her eyes, which are close to those of Chloe, the woman he lost. What kept her in the job was that Silas has something of Owen about him, and Owen went missing and was never found. Neither of them has said any of this to the other. Silas finds a closer match, a woman who passes for Chloe in more than the eyes. Ann looks into her and finds she was trained into the resemblance and put in Silas's way by someone working to split his family. They pull the scheme open together. Over that stretch Silas thinks about Chloe less, and after the two of them are stranded in the snow on a mountain he is certain about how Ann feels. Chloe's mother studies a painting and settles something for herself, which is that Silas is not Owen. Ann marries him. On the wedding day the news reaches her that Owen is alive, and she leaves the country. Owen has leukemia. Ann's marrow is a match, and Chloe's mother uses that to get her signature on a share transfer. Ann is pregnant by then, and donating means giving up the pregnancy. Silas tells her the choice is hers.
