Synopsis

Magnus Thorn held the rank of Grandmaster of the Martial Arts in a land where fighting skill decided a person's standing. His son Sterling Star showed no ability in it. Magnus sent the boy to the recluse Sage Verdant as a disciple. Sterling stayed away eight years. He came back with a set of mechanical devices of his own making, which the martial world classed as minor tricks and unorthodox arts. House Thorne then came into a crisis that put the whole family at risk. The devices Sterling had brought home became the family's last means of getting through it.

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
