Defying the World for My Phantom Lover

It is typhoon season, and Logan Carter, a detective on the serious crimes squad, picks up a red envelope off the ground without knowing it was left for a ghost marriage. The spirit attached to it is Evan Hart, a drag queen who was flamboyant and unrestrained in life. Logan is straight, holds every prejudice he was raised with, and now cannot be apart from Evan day or night. He throws the envelope away more than once and it keeps coming back to his hand. He resists hard at first. Evan makes no secret of wanting him and works on him gently, and Logan's discipline starts coming loose in a way he cannot argue himself out of. Meanwhile a case surfaces involving the suspicious deaths of five young men, an old file that was buried cold, and the trail from it runs up into the senior ranks of the police. People with power move to keep it buried. Logan stops defending himself, from the department and from what he feels, and goes after the truth with Evan working the case beside him.
