Makjang Level Up

Jin-sol's days are dull and her one reliable pleasure is watching makjang serials, the kind with switched babies, secret parentage and slapping in restaurants. One evening the screen throws off a strange light, it wraps around her, and she is inside the drama she was watching. The rule of the place is stated plainly. She gets out when the show she is in reaches number one in the ratings, and not before. So Jin-sol sets about writing the most outrageous makjang anyone has produced, on the theory that she has seen enough of them to know exactly which beats an audience cannot look away from. She has to live inside every twist she introduces, alongside characters who take their own absurd plots entirely seriously, and the ratings move only when the story hurts somebody.
