From Outcast to Warlord

Lin Anping, son of a disgraced minister, pretends to be mad and foolish for three years to survive. After his loyal servant's tragic death and his fiancée Xu Shiyao's public annulment of their engagement, he awakens completely. Under an alias, he joins the military at the northern frontier. With extraordinary strategic genius, he defeats superior forces, captures the Northern Qin prince alive, conquers three cities in succession, and is enfeoffed as Marquis of Wu'an. Returning to the capital, he takes control of the city patrol division, executes his enemies in the streets, and exposes corruption among the nobility while engaging in fierce power struggles with the crown prince's faction. When the Northern Qin invades again, Lin Anping uncovers the crown prince's conspiracy to collude with foreign enemies, launches a deep campaign into the steppes to eliminate enemy forces, and ultimately crushes the Northern Qin's main army. He is enfeoffed as King of the Northern Region, successfully exonerates his family, and wins the heart of the Seventh Princess, Song Yulong.
