Emily Davis marries Benjamin Parker and spends the next three years doing what is expected of his wife, in bed and out of it. She believes her patience will eventually get through to him, and her conclusion after three years is that she could melt the ice in Antarctica before she got anywhere with Benjamin. Benjamin's summary of the same three years comes to two words, boring and plain. She decides to end the marriage. At his company's anniversary event she throws the divorce agreement in his face in front of the guests, and he is left standing there while people watch. He looks at her in the red dress, calm about the whole thing, and narrows his eyes. Emily puts her attention on her career after that and means to keep it there. Benjamin starts trying to get her back.
